About The Child Of Calamity Series
Aloha, Lovelies.
How are all of you doing?
If you’ve been following my Facebook Fan Page, most of you already know I’ve been working on a new project.
It’s a series called The Child of Calamity series.
It centers around Artemis and her plans for Mount Olympus. She wants the throne, and she’ll do anything to get it.
I’ve been working on the outlines for The Child of Calamity book series. Keep in mind they’re novelette length at 15k each.
So far, I’ve 12 – yep, you heard right – 12 books scheduled to be written.
Depending on the characters in play, there may be more coming for the series itself.

Chapter 1 of The Goddess’s Wishes
Afternoon, Lovelies.I trust you’re all having a lovely Sunday/Monday.
As promised, I’ve put together a little sample of The Goddess’s Wishes for you.
The cover image on the left is not the actual cover. It’s just something I put together quite hastily as a placeholder with a stock photo I purchased while the actual cover is made. So can’t wait to have the cover completed and in my hands so that I can share it with you all when the time comes.
Anywho, below, you’ll find the first chapter of the story. Please keep in mind that what you see here is an uncorrected version of the chapter. The story is still being written, and will be edited properly when the time comes.
I also ask that you forgive a little literary license that I’ve taken with Artemis and Apollo, as their relationship isn’t quite cannon, but makes for an interesting storyline. At least, I think so. Don’t worry, the relationship itself is not the focus of the story.
With that said, I hope you all enjoy the chapter.

Rosa knelt in the middle of the grassy knoll behind the building, her shoulders shaking as she cried once more. My heart constricted as I heard her soft sobs. I understood what she was going through, even though I had no children of my own. The pain she felt in losing two children in one day was torture. I came to stand beside her, slowly dropping to my knees. She looked up, and offered me a watery smile.
“Thanks, cuzo,” she said, gently cupping her hands beneath Julianna’s head.
“Welcome, Rose. I wish there was more I could do.”
She wiped her nose across the back of her right hand, and stared at the snot gathered across her flesh. A frown dug deep between her brows. She rubbed her hand against her dirty jeans, and shook her head to clear it.
“You’ve done enough. Look how far you got us.”
I wrapped my arms around her shoulders, and drew her close. “Yes, but I could have prevented this somehow.”

The trek along Baldwin Street was treacherous at best. Whereas our entrance to the city had been quiet, things were more volatile here. Deserted cars were strewn across the road. Some had crashed into others, leaving behind small pile-ups. People rushed out of their homes, hoping to avoid the accumulating undead, only to become their next meal. The ensuing panic was more than I could bear.
I wove in and out of the stalled traffic, wincing every time an undead or a person banged heavily on the car’s sides and windows. The crack in the right rear passenger window lengthened with every hit across the glass pane. We’d need to replace the window soon, but that option wouldn’t be likely. Not with what’s been going on. Once it broke, we’d have to leave it that way. No one would be around to replace it.
We found an opening in the accumulating traffic near Piedmont Street. The elation was short-lived, however, as we came to a stop in the middle of the road. A mass of undead stumbled along in front of the gasoline station. I clutched the steering wheel, biting on my lower lip in thought. It was possible for us to plunge through the crowd in hopes of getting to Mom’s house, but we ran the risk of attracting more than we could chew. There were too many biters for us to make it safely.

I Sometimes Wonder
You’ve been stuck in my head,
for as long as I can remember.
A thought that’s never-ending,
like the snows of December.
There’s no getting rid,
of what you’ve come to mean to me.
Those fleeting thoughts,
embedded indefinitely.
I’ve tried to let you go.
To forget, and move along.
Yet I think of you often,
when I hear a certain song.Posted on January 21, 2013 with 2 notes ()

We encountered a partial road block as we neared exit 26. Abandoned cars were scattered across the expressway, their occupants long gone. Or so we assumed. Smoldering wreckage could be seen several paces from where we stood along the highway. My heart raced within my chest as I realized our journey had become much more difficult. Night had descended upon us, and I knew we couldn’t stay here on the highway.
“There’s a slight gap between the cars,” Chase murmured as he shifted in his seat.
“Hmmm?” I mumbled as I absent-mindedly rubbed my left temple.
He pointed toward a spot on the right side of the road we hadn’t paid attention to until now. “There.”
Sure enough, an opening spread out before us. I followed the minute gap, mentally creating a map of the terrain. The path ended unexpectedly, as it was lost in darkness. We had a chance in using it to our advantage, though. Granted, we had no guarantee that we wouldn’t find any of the undead along the way. This was our chance to make it home unscathed. It might not have been our best course of action, but it was the only one we had, so far. We’d come a long way, dodging obstacles right and left. We were not going to turn back now.

“What now?” Rosa asked as she ran an unsteady hand through her thick black hair.
I shrugged, and stared at the massive pile-up halfway down the ramp leading toward I-84 West. “Damned if I know.”
“We could try and take the entrance near McDonald’s on Corbin Avenue.”
Her suggestion was good, but I wasn’t sure if it would be effective. We’d encountered quite a few obstacles already. Granted, we were safe, for the moment, as we saw none of the undead around yet, but it wouldn’t stay that way the longer we waited. Our situation grew dire by the second, and our means of getting home no longer seemed likely.
“What if we find the same thing there? How will we get to Waterbury, then?”
“We could take the back roads through Bristol,” Chase suggested as he slid out of the parked vehicle.
I raised a brow in question. “You know about that?”
“Hells yeah!” he exclaimed. His face turned red as his mother glared in his direction. “I mean, yes. Dad takes that route all the time whenever he goes fishing.”

The hungry mob turned in our direction as we drew closer to the vehicle, and promptly ignored the passengers huddled within. I clutched the lug wrench tightly, prepared to defend myself. The sound of bones cracking resounded throughout our surroundings as I bashed a zombie’s head in. It crumpled to the ground, its body twitching before it lay still.
Rosa stood beside me, swinging right and left at the undead as they began to surround us. My pulse raced as I realized we’d misjudged the situation. There were more zombies than we’d anticipated. For each one we knocked out, two more took its place. My cousin and I exchanged knowing glances as we snuck a quick glance behind us. The scent of blood was drawing an even bigger crowd, and it was headed straight for the children.
Throwing caution to the wind, I cried out, and told the kids to run in our direction. I began to clear us a path toward the SUV. Rosa put herself in the line of fire as she did her best to protect her offspring. Slowly, but steadily, we began to make a little headway. I heard the locks of the car shift as one of the girls unlocked them.
The rear left side passenger door opened, and Mary stuck her head out as she yelled at us. Without any further prodding, the children took off, somehow avoiding capture. I waved at my sister as I slammed the lug wrench across one of the zombie’s jaws. Blood spurted into my face. I ignored it as I continued to back up against the car. I nodded at Rosa, and she made a quick dash for the passenger door. I took one last swing at the nearest zombie, and ran toward the car, yanking the driver’s side door open. I slammed the door shut, and hit the lock button, moments before more of the undead swarmed the vehicle.
